What’s Hot in Holiday Table Settings?
It’s not every day that we have a reason to decorate our home and go all out with table settings. The holiday season is the perfect excuse for turning your dining room table into something spectacular. Here is what is on-trend this year for holiday table settings:
Rustic-Rustic is still really popular. If you have a taste for rustic décor, try a burlap table runner accented with fresh evergreens, pinecones, red velvet ribbons, berries, small trees, and wood dials. Leave a small sprig of fresh holly or cinnamon sticks on everyone’s plate.
Mixed Metallics-Tis the season for glitter and shimmer. A white table linen adorned with candles and ornaments of silver, gold, and rose gold make for a very modern and chic table. Use gold or silver charger plates at each setting to make it extra elegant.
Candles, Candles, Candles!-Low light and lots of candles makes the room feel very warm and cozy. Fill a couple dozen mason jars of all sizes with pillar candles. Add accents of fresh evergreens, holly, and small ornaments in between the jars, or fill the bottom of the jars with fresh cranberries and a little bit of water.
Fresh fruit-Pomegranates, grapes, pears, lemons, limes, and tangerines make gorgeous centerpieces (and you can eat them after!). Arrange the fruit in a long and low basket, on pillar candleholders, or on antique-style cake stand. Accent the fruits with fresh evergreens or eucalyptus.
However you decide to decorate your table, keep in mind to make plenty of room for the food, and make sure that your décor isn’t interfering with your guests’ ability to see each other.
